Atlanta, GA – May 21, 2013 – Southeastern Stages is 80 years young! To commemorate its 80th Anniversary, Southeastern Stages released a celebratory logo which will be used in unison with their traditional company logo throughout the year. To celebrate Southeastern Stages hosted employees, agents, partners and family for a night out at the ballpark where they watched the Atlanta Braves defeat the Minnesota Twins in extra innings.

Southeastern Stages was born as a partnership between two families in an effort to more reliably connect communities throughout Georgia and South Carolina in 1933.  A.C. (Lon) Shipman and J.W. (Jake) Hughes devoted their efforts to ensuring that their new company would become integral to the growing intercity bus industry.  Through the years, Southeastern Stages has developed and extended service to include interlining passengers from across the country, but always remained true to the goal of offering personal and professional attention to every person who steps onto one of its motorcoaches.

Today, Southeastern Stages remains a proud third generation family business that enjoys a reputation as a leader in the industry – helping to set the tone for the future of public transportation. With over 40 modern motorcoaches and more than 65 employees, Southeastern Stages is one of the region’s largest, independent motorcoach companies.

“Our achievement comes only through the hard work and dedication of our employees, friends and partners” said Mike Dickson, current Southeastern Stages president.  “Without each and every one of them, none of this would have ever been possible,” Dickson continued. “The efforts and sacrifices are too numerous to list but too significant to overlook.  We are always aware that those that have come before us have paved the way for the success of those who follow.”
